Shoora

Terms & privacy

What Shoora does with what you say, type and enter. Written in plain language rather than legal language.

What Shoora does

A speaker talks into one device. Their speech is transcribed and appears, live, on the screen of anyone holding the link โ€” optionally translated into the language each viewer picks.

What stays in your browser

Your nickname, the language you read in, your agreement to this page and a random id that lets the speaker tell one questioner from another. Clearing your browser data removes all of it.

What is stored on our server

The nickname you use, so that no two viewers hold the same one. Your email address, if you choose to give one. Narration text from a talk, which the speaker may save. Page visits, recorded with a one-way hash of your IP address rather than the address itself, plus country and interface language.

Email

Giving an email address is optional and you can join any talk without one. If you give one we send a single message to confirm it is yours. We do not sell it, share it, or send marketing to it.

What other people can see

Anything you send the speaker โ€” a question, a message, an image โ€” is shown to the speaker and to the rest of the audience, under your nickname. Do not put anything there you would not say out loud in the room.

Cookies

A cookie keeps you signed in if you have an account. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers.

Removing your data

Write to [email protected] and we will delete your address, your nickname and any narration tied to them.
