Access shouldn’t wait for a scheduled interpreter.
Wherever a person speaks to an audience — a stage, a lecture hall, a classroom, a guided tour — part of the room is left out. Shoora closes that gap by connecting the translation to the exact moment a word is spoken, and putting it on the phone already in each person’s hand.
How it works
A synchronisation engine at the core.
Shoora listens to the speaker, identifies in real time where they are in the text, and serves the matching line to each viewer — translated, and in sign language, in the language they picked.
- Known text — prepared in advance at human quality; the engine only synchronises.
- Free speech — live transcription and translation, sharpened by slides and syllabus.
- Sign language beside every line, so meaning survives imperfect automation.
- Two-way — the audience types back; a Deaf viewer can sign to the camera and be read as text.
Who we are
AI practitioners & the Deaf community.
Shoora is founded by AI experts with hands-on experience building production systems in speech recognition, natural language processing and machine translation. The synchronisation engine is the founders’ own work.
We build alongside Deaf community advisors, theatre professionals and educators — because accessibility designed without the people it serves isn’t accessibility.
We will never replace human interpreters where the stakes are highest — hospitals, courts. We take the 95% of everyday moments they can’t reach.
